Abstract: The vertical metal tank is divided into several parts according to the structural characteristics.The stress response of the tank in the process of liquid loading is analyzed by finite element calculation.The volume change caused by the deformation of the tank is calculated according to the principle of capacity measurement,and the reason of its change has been identified.Meanwhile,the veracity of the analysis and the result has been proved through tests on site.In practical work,the surveyor should consider the influence of factors such as tank structure,load distribution and foundation,and revise the result in the process of calculation.
