Abstract: This article presents the design and manufacture of a novel SMA wideband load with high performance, and then test it. The emphases of the wideband load design are the choice of the resistance, the match of transition segment, the design of the tractrix of the outer conductor of resistance segment. The structure is simulated using CST software. TDR (Time Domain Reflection) computation is well known from measurement. In simulation the TDR module is the only possibility to “look into a structure” and locate mismatches. It is very precision to design coaxial component. The final structure of this SMA load is fabricated and tested. The measured VSWR of the SMA load is less than 1.07. A good agreement between the simulated and measured results validates  the design.
