Calibration of the Retro-reflective Ball Scale-bar

Abstract

Abstract: A calibration method of the retro-reflective ball scale-bar is proposed. The calibration instrument is composed by three-channel laser ranging device, high resolution bi-telecentric optical aiming module and air floating translation stage. Four fix-length retro-reflective ball scale-bars, which the nominal values are 500mm，1000mm，1500mm and 2000mm, are measured by the calibration device. The result shows that the retro-reflective ball scale-bar can be calibrated precisely by the the method proposed in this paper.
