Theory and Simulation Analysis of a Cross-correlation Method for Measuring Phase Noise

Abstract: Phase noise measurement is an important research in the field of radio measurement.With the development of signal generators and other signal instruments and equipment,there are higher requirements for phase noise measurement technology.This paper introduces the theory and simulation analysis of measuring phase noise by cross-correlation method,explains the principle of suppressing uncorrelated interference noise by cross-correlation method through theoretical derivation,establishes a simulation analysis model based on MATLAB on the basis of theoretical results,and verifies the improvement degree of the bottom of system noise under different cross-correlation times,we further analyzed the influence of dual channel correlation on cross-correlation calculation results and obtained the corresponding simulation results,which provides a reference for relevant engineering design.
