Abstract: An analytical method was developed for the determination of the residual styrene monomer content in fiberglass reinforced plastics based on unsaturated-polyester resins by gas chromatography with FID detector. In this method, dichloromethane is used as the solvent, and HP-5 column is used to separate different components. The internal standard calibration method is used for the quantitative calculations, the linear correlation coefficient was 0.999 7. The detection limit of the method is 5mg/kg.
